Update: Twitter stated in its blog that due to human error some accounts have been marked as suspended.

For the past few days I was tweeting more about giveaways and contests on Twitter, in between i used to share few blog post links that’s other thing, but it was a close shave for my Twitter account when Twitter suspended my account this morning(see the image below, click on it to see in larger version).

Twitter-Account-Suspended I quickly followed the link(shown in the red region of the screenshot) and sent few mails requesting Twitter that this isn’t a spam account. Support page says suspended accounts may take minimum of 30days to get verified, but amazingly it was just for few hours and my account is back in the evening.

This may happen to any one if people report your profile as spam. In my case, may be the contest owners might have reported as spam to Twitter because I was scheduling my tweets(with Tweetlater.com) to future dates to win the contest and its been 4th day they received my tweets in their 7days contest. Funny and effective strategy huh! don’t try it, somebody going to report it to Twitter like they did to my profile(just kidding :D ).

Its high time Twitter gets a dedicated support, even if its premium support. My account got banned by Twitter search more than 6 months back but even after raising tickets and following it up, no one cared to solve or answer my query.

Two of my friend came across of the same problem, without any indications of spam. Gladly Twitter approved their accounts again within just a day, instead of the stated 30 days.
